I’m a Carolina girl at heart – No matter where I end up in this world, South Carolina will always be my first home and a special place. I’ve seen a lot of small businesses start and grow during my life here and I hold each of them close to my heart. Behind every business is someone(s) who have put blood, sweat, and tears into seeing their dream become a reality. With each one there are families being supported, a community being served, and a unique story of how it was born.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I watched as many of the business that are loved by so many had to furlough employees and shut down. In order to bring awareness and honor these businesses and brands, I wanted to share some of my favorites with you guys (You know how much I love sharing!) as well as encourage you all to check them out!
Kaminsky’s Dessert Cafe (Recommend: Brownie sundae with a café au lait)
Wild Olive Restaurant (Recommend: Marinated olives appetizer)
Even if you’re not a South Carolina native, many of these small businesses have online stores you can shop! If you’re not a local, but do visit from time to time, you could always opt for a gift card to use next time you’re with us!
Speaking as a small business owner, any amount of support will mean the world to these folks. That may look like a $20 purchase or a simple sharing of their webpage, whatever you feel led to do will be so appreciated! If your favorite SC biz isn’t on this list, feel free to give them a shoutout in the comments so we can show them some love!
I believe that this is not something that happened to us, but for us and as a result we as a people will come back even stronger than before. Heres to being more resilient, more unified, and THRIVING!
