Baby H is coming to town this August and we are so PUMPED to share this awesome news with you guys!!
As many of you know through my social media or from chatting with me personally, Chris and I underwent IVF treatments late 2018. Well, we were blessed with a BFP in December! Now baby and I are just chillin’ in the second trimester as nursery planning kicks off and the excitement grows every week!
I’ve received a few comments regarding our decision to announce the big news early – as in during the first trimester. This is a personal decision for every couple and there is no right or wrong way to do it. With IVF, much of the surprise factor is taken away due to how meticulously everything is planned. Yes, we could have kept it a secret, but that is one heck of a secret and those get exhausting. Chris and I kept our parents and a couple of close friends in the loop until around the time of the transfer, where we became a little more quiet. Once I was 100% confirmed pregnant we waited a couple of weeks and told our immediate family followed by the “official” social media announcement at the end of the year. Not only were we just so ready to share our blessing with the world, but we didn’t have to worry about sharing vague updates or coming up with excuses for anything. This is what worked for us, and I encourage any expecting couple to do whatever works for you.

As for our excitement level… You guys, we are absolutely over the moon. This little one has been so wanted for so long and now it’s become a beautiful reality. Still, we have felt all the emotions over these past few months. We’ve been anxious about being good parents, stressed about getting everything as ready as possible, incredibly joyful to see our baby kicking during the last ultrasound – All in all, there has been a healthy range of emotions. I believe it’s safe to say that when you’re growing life inside of you and preparing to take responsibility for this new life, experiencing a variety of emotions is normal. Especially for you, mama!
Side note here – Chris is a total saint dealing with my personal range of emotions; including but not limited to me being on the brink of tears trying to explain how badly I was craving french fries. (A side, side note – I’m a pretty healthy gal and I initially thought pregnancy cravings were a myth. They’re not.)
Speaking of my hubby, dad life is going to suit him very well. Watching him get really excited is so sweet and stinkin’ cute. He’s already laid down new flooring in the nursery and helped me pick out paint colors! I didn’t think it was possible, but my husband has gotten even sexier and I am loving it!
I’ve got to say, pregnancy has been treating me very well so we are going to continue feeling all the feels and making all the plans. You can bet you haven’t heard the last of this adventure! In fact, I invite you to go back to the beginning and check out my initial announcement here.
Stay tuned, friends!
